Swashbuggler

Learning is by – comics. Reading Marvel’s Avengers (the Korvac Saga in this case, page 160) I found this:

“GOT ANY SWASHES YOU WANT BUCKLED?”

Googling swashes you find unnecessary typographical flourishes at the left of capital letters. And a buckle holds your trousers.
But then there is a swashbuggler, since 1560 in the language, here.
Yondu Udonta is just that.

And what’s a “mobile stunblaster” (not “stuntblaster”)?
Here you see it in action, fought with “gauntlets” by Captain America:
Stan Lee: “The Mighty Avengers!” from Marvel’s “Avengers – The Korvac Saga” page 81
IT CIRCLES AND MANEUVERS LIKE A LIVING OPPONENT – AND FIRES POTENT CONCUSSION BEAMS AT RANDOM SPLIT-SECOND INTERVALS!
YOU’VE GOT TO BE VERY QUICK WITH THE INSULATOR GAUNTLETS TO BLOCK EVERY SHOT!

– Thanks to my good friends who at my 75th presented me gift certificates for nearby Bonn’s comics shop, and its Grabbelkiste outside. I got the album for some five Euro.

Fritz the »Lector« says: ’t should read “buggled” instead of “buckled”.

Deutsch ist ein swash ein »Schwungbuchstabe«., ein gauntlet ein Kampfhandschuh.
